figuring it all out

I could get used to this view!

But I doubt it'll ever get old. Any guesses on what I decided? lol Okay, for those who maybe haven't been there, this was shot on the border of my two favorite states - on the 205 bridge connecting Vancouver,WA, and Portland, OR. As I said, I've been waffling for awhile between the areas surrounding Portland and Seattle, but when I step back and really think about where I might fit in best? The choice is really a simple one. Thanks, Virginia for further confirming my initial impression of both areas. It's nice to hear that from someone who's actually lived in both areas. Seattle may (definitely) win on the amount of cultural activities/stuff to do front, but Portland has the friendliness factor and some pretty cool cultural aspects as well. Of course, the particularly vegan-friendliness of the area doesn't hurt either! lol Now, it's just a matter of figuring out the best time to move and then find a place to live. I'm so excited to soon have my own place again!

  2. Ooh, awesome! I love Portland. You know, even if Portland loses on the cultural activities front, Seattle is a short (3 to 5 hours, depending on traffic) drive away.

  3. Melissa - I'll have to look and see if that's feasible. I'll be traveling with my little zoo and it's best to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. heh Made the trip from Spokane to IN in just over 2 days. A visit may have to wait until I'm settled and can get a sitter for the critters. =)

Virginia - That's what I'm thinking. Keep Seattle as an easy destination for weekends or such, but avoid the higher costs and all that traffic! PDX has traffic but nothing like Seattle!

  4. oh yay! I'm so excited to hear that you are planning to move to Portland! i know you've been thinking about it. Let me know if you need any help. I know that I've really loved living here. The people are really friendly and I've really liked that. In fact, I was thinking today that this is the first place I've lived where I've actually been friendly with my neighbors. Everywhere else I've barely even known them. I think that says a lot!
